AmpliTube for iPhone gives you 17 stompbox effects, 8 amplifiers, 10 speaker cabinets and 2 mics, a free Loop Drummer Rock groove pack and a 2-track recorder.

You can expand this via a massive library of over 150 amps and stompboxes from top brands like Fender™, Ampeg®, Orange®, Mesa/Boogie®, and many more, or unlock the rigs of your heroes with gear from Slash, Dimebag Darrell, Jimi Hendrix, and Brian May.

Ready to hit the stage? AmpliTube’s Live Mode offers an optimized GUI for live use, with all the settings and controls you need in an easy-to-read format.

Pros and cons of AmpliTube app for iPhone and iPad

AmpliTube app good for

Hey Leute... Kann mir mal einer sagen warum Reverb bei mir nicht funktioniert ? EQ und Compressor ist ok ...
This version actually improve the reliability and the sound (you need good monitors or professional headphones to fully appreciate it). Good job! IK should do more step ahead like this one.
This app is amazing for the price. Its great for quick recording of riffs and sounds pretty good once you play with the settings a bit. The tuner is very accurate. Its best to put your phone in airplane mode as it eliminates ticks/pops & improves the sound quality. I record my guitar ideas, then plug them into my Roland Vdrums and jam along.
This app is amazing. Sound quality is great and so easy to use. The only downside is the price...expensive to buy plus you need the iRig to use which puts you around $70 to $80 for both plus all the in-app purchases you can get. However I think its well worth it.
This app is quite the bundle of many great things. Thankfully, I got this app when it was on sale, so five bucks more for in-app stuff. :D • The amount of pedals you get is amazing. A single real one costs more than the app, the iRig, plus the in-app pedals. On top of that, you get a recording station, amps, tuner, metronome and other things. • The sound quality is astonishing. Pretty close to the real things. Of course its going to sound a little electronic, but if you cant beat the real thing, at least get close. And it is. • The music player is an app in itself. Half the reason people play guitar is to jam along with their favourite artists. So, you can. Not everyone can play their favourite song at speed at first. So just slow it down. Want a challenge? Speed it up. Damn vocalists getting annoying? Shut them up. The no voice feature is hit and miss, it may reduce the sound quality, or it may perform as expected. First song I tried it on, it was like magic. The others not so much. Still pretty amazing though. • Price too high? Shut up, you bought a $300 dollar device, 20 bucks is nothing. Overall, great app for any guitarist.
Like many, I could not understand why the effects I paid for did not work. I sent in an e-mail to the AmpliTube folks asking for help. I did some more research and found out YOU NEED TO TURN THE TUNER OFF!! This should be on their FAQ section of their website AND a pop up window when you turn the tuner on when you use the app. Other than that, the app is great. Lots of fun.

Some bad moments

What are you doing ??? AmpliTube doesnt work anymore with IOS 8 !!!! Problem with audiobus
With nothing appreciably new except the opportunity to buy more stuff, I would call it a downgrade. The master section with the EQ and compressor have disappeared. Those two functions as a global master, not saved with presets, allowed me to use the app in live situations. Without them I would be forced to bring outboard gear with me negating the usefulness of the app.
You pay all that, get just a few effects, then youre expected to pay even more for extra effects... Bit much really
very little is available without multiple expensive in app purchases. I completely regret this expensive purchase. offers very little compared to free apps.
This an ok app, its way to expensive first off. Second a clean amp hisses so bad you cant do anything with it. There are pops and a noticeable lag. Wish i didnt spend the cash on it.
This is app sounds pretty good, but the ability to use it along side with other apps to write/record is limited. Please include MFi compatibility so that users can use the dock connector to input audio using accessories other than just the iRig, the ability to Import and Export audio to and from the iPod app is most useful when writing/recording songs using multiple apps. Adding audio input to the dock connector will make this app much more versatile and more useful for recording and writing. AmpliTube is great for just jamming out with the iRig but with MFi compatibility it could be used for so more than just practicing and tuning your guitar on the go. Also it would increase the number of potential AmpliTube users as some people already own audio input devices for the iPhone/iPod/iPad and arent willing to purchase another one just to use 1 app. It would be a smart move on IK Multimedias behalf to include this feature in a future update.
